Drabble (100 words) written for the first week of the 2021 DamereyFicChallege

Prompt: Interrupted by a droid

The old cot shifted precariously, whispers and gasps getting louder as the rocking became faster.

A ball droid sped into the room, beeping in admonishment. The movement stopped.

“BB-8, get out!” the droid’s master hissed.

But the machine was persistent, beeping an inquiry toward the woman currently pinned under his master.

“BB-8, I’m more than okay. Go!”

Slowly, the droid spun around and left the room.

Laughter followed him. “I love that he’s protective of you,” the Pilot told his Jedi as the rocking began again. “But he’s just going to have to get used to you screaming my name.”
